Winter lot options have separate rules.
Buy the right permit
Residents and guests buy permits through the Parking and By-law Portal, with registration and login. You need the vehicle plate before purchase. A permit runs midnight to 11:59 p.m. on its selected date, not 24 hours from the moment you buy it.
Display the permit on the dash. It cannot be refunded or transferred to another vehicle. Out-of-province plates are allowed. Extra-permit requests beyond the normal annual limit must be explained in writing to parking@richmondhill.ca.
Driveway work and restricted vehicles
For driveway work, residents can request free permits for at most three cars and five days per year. Call Parking Control at 905-771-8860 at least one week before the work starts.
The ordinary program covers licensed personal-use vehicles and taxis. Commercial vehicles, oversized vehicles over 5.2 m or 3,000 kg, campers, motorhomes, trailers and boats are not ordinary eligible vehicles. Ask Parking Control about exceptional commercial circumstances instead of purchasing an unsuitable permit.
Winter alternatives are not ordinary lot permits
During a declared Winter Event, the permit cannot authorize street parking. It can be used at the 15 listed city-facility alternatives while winter work is underway, displayed clearly and subject to first-come space.
The table preserves all 15 source entries. Richmond Green and Tom Graham Arena share the same recorded address but remain distinct source facilities. These alternatives are for the stated winter situation, not unrestricted year-round overnight lot parking.
