Account Executive, Outside Sales
Two positions | Full-time, permanent | Field-based across Southern Ontario, reporting into Vaughan, Ontario
About H&S
Founded in 1993 and based in Vaughan, Ontario, H&S is a leading distributor of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and renovation supplies built exclusively to serve Ontario's purpose-built residential rental market. It provides essential supplies for property upkeep, tenant turnover, and renovations through ten main product categories and 8,500+ SKUs that are specifically tailored for purpose-built rentals. H&S has built a strong reputation in the market due to its emphasis on customer service and long-standing relationships with property owners and managers.
Many of our customer relationships span decades. We have built those relationships by knowing our customers, having a deep understanding of their buildings, and being there when they need us. We're entering an exciting stage of growth, investing in a dedicated sales team, new technology and a more structured approach to how we grow and support our customers. We have a CRM, a defined playbook, a clear compensation plan, and named accounts. You would be one of our first Account Executives under this new structure, with a real opportunity to help shape what we're building.
The job
You will be responsible for growing a portfolio of property management accounts across Southern Ontario's purpose-built rental market, developing existing relationships, re-engaging customers and creating new opportunities for H&S. Your job is the same across all of them: get in the buildings, get in front of the people who buy, and grow the account with H&S.
You won't be selling into a void. You will have a defined account list, a CRM from day one, a written playbook, field support keeping a presence in your buildings, and three decades of relationships behind you.
What you will do
- Own a named list of accounts with clear growth targets
- Win back accounts that have drifted and open new ones in our core market
- Spend your week in the field: head offices, site visits, building walk-throughs
- Run your pipeline in our CRM and come to the weekly sales meeting ready to talk about it
- Work directly with our VPs, who carry accounts themselves and will be in the field with you
What you bring
- A track record of hunting (3+ years): opening doors, building relationships, and growing accounts in B2B field sales
- Comfort with a long sales cycle. Our customers buy every week for years, and trust is the product
- Distribution, building products, or property management experience is an asset, not a requirement
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout Ontario as required by the role
- Comfortable running your own pipeline in a CRM and forecasting from it
Compensation
- Base salary: $75,000, plus an uncapped commission-based incentive compensation structure
- Year-one earnings guaranteed at $125,000 while you build your book
- Uncapped commission on all account growth, with a quarterly bonus and an accelerator above target
- Vehicle allowance, business travel expenses including 407, cell phone, and full benefits
Expected first-year compensation: $125,000 to $175,000. The $125,000 is a guaranteed minimum in year one and commission is uncapped above it.
H&S is an equal opportunity employer. If you need an accommodation at any point in the hiring process, tell us and we will arrange it.
Why this role is worth your time
Small team, real backing, and a market we already lead on service. The infrastructure most companies promise in interviews is actually being built here right now. For a top performer, the path isn't just a bigger book. It's leadership as the team grows. Good work, good people, and a team you'll enjoy showing up for.
