The opportunity
Our client is a profitable, founder-led consumer services company that has recently repositioned itself as an AI-first business. Since making that shift, growth has accelerated sharply. They are now looking for a Head of Partnerships to lead the next phase of that growth, reporting directly to the CEO.
This person will own the partnerships function end to end: growing partner revenue, bringing partner offerings into the company’s AI products, opening new customer acquisition channels for its core services, and building the team to do all of it.
About the company
The business pairs a long-established professional services operation with a large consumer audience and a strong online presence. Its in-house technology already covers customer portals, service delivery systems and public-facing tools, all designed to cut manual work and give people clearer, more personal guidance through decisions that matter to them. The company plans to expand into new service categories and become a national leader in its space.
It already has commercial relationships with major national brands that want to reach its audience. The next step is to move those relationships beyond traditional placements and build partner services directly into products that help people make decisions and act on them.
The culture is lean and fast. Small teams, real ownership, quick decisions and direct access to the CEO. The team includes people from well-known Canadian tech companies, along with startup and growth operators.
What you’ll own
- Partnership revenue. Find growth within current relationships and win new ones. Understand the economics on both sides and turn opportunities into results.
- Partner integration into products. Match partner goals with real customer needs, coordinate delivery, and work with the growth team on adoption, engagement, acquisition and retention.
- Distribution for core services. Build partnerships that bring new customers to the company through brands they already know and trust.
- The team. Decide what capabilities are needed, hire strong people, and give each of them clear ownership and measurable goals. Know where you add the most value yourself and hire to complement it.
- Partner delivery and health. Meet contractual commitments, define how partner health is measured, build relationships across partner organizations and get ahead of issues early.
You’ll work with the CEO on strategy and commercial priorities, and closely with product, engineering, growth, brand and service delivery teams. You’ll be the voice of commercial and partner requirements in product decisions.
Requirements
What they’re looking for
- Product sense. You can see where a partner’s offering solves a real customer problem, and you’ve turned commercial goals into products or experiences people actually use.
- Commercial judgment. You understand partner economics, can spot profitable growth, and can tell whether a relationship will scale. You can articulate the value to each side and make sensible tradeoffs.
- Cross-organization leadership. You’re comfortable with senior stakeholders and delivery teams at large institutions while also moving quickly inside a smaller company. You bring clarity, remove blockers and follow through.
- Team building. You know your own strengths and gaps and design roles around the work and the outcomes needed.
- Talent judgment. You assess capability, motivation and fit carefully, recruit well, set clear expectations and help people succeed.
Why this role
This is a chance to use AI to improve services that genuinely matter to individuals and families, with a profitable business, an established audience and strong partner relationships already in place. You’d have real room to shape what the function, and the company, becomes next.
