Original job description

Our people are the best part about Demetres and we're always looking for the right people to carry the tradition of excellence. Demetres is a place where good things happen. We serve brilliant desserts that are handcrafted in store, with our own craft ice creams made right here in our central kitchen.

As a Dishwasher at our central commissary, you will be responsible for keeping our production equipment, utensils, and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized to the highest standard. Behind every dessert Canadians have loved for over 35 years is a team that takes quality seriously, and that starts with a clean kitchen.

If you take pride in doing things right and understand that cleanliness is the foundation of great food, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do

Keep It Clean: Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment, utensils, and food-contact surfaces according to established cleaning schedules and SOPs.
Run the Station: Operate commercial dishwashing and sanitizing equipment safely and correctly.
Own Your Area: Maintain cleanliness of the dish pit, wash stations, and surrounding production areas throughout your shift.
Handle with Care: Follow proper chemical handling and dilution procedures at all times.
Stay on Record: Document cleaning and sanitation activities as required.
Speak Up: Communicate any equipment issues, damaged items, or sanitation concerns to the production supervisor.
Team Player: Support the team during changeovers and end-of-day deep cleans.

What You Bring

Attention to Detail: You take cleanliness seriously and don't cut corners.
Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and bending throughout a shift.
Reliability: Punctual, consistent, and a dependable member of the team.
Coachability: Able to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to SOPs.
Bonus Points: Previous experience in a food manufacturing or HACCP environment is a strong asset.

Why You'll Love It Here

The Vibe: Great tunes and a team that likes working with each other.
The Perks: Employee discounts (yes, the ice cream is that good).
The Balance: Set shifts that respect your time.
The Growth: We love to promote from within!

The Details

Location: 111 Strada Drive, Woodbridge, ON (Transit accessible + free on-site parking).
Schedule: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available. We offer morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
