Role Description The 309A Electrician will perform residential and commercial electrical work on-site in Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON, in a part-time capacity. Day-to-day tasks include installing and upgrading wiring, panels, sub-panels, and EV chargers, as well as performing service upgrades, lighting installations (interior, exterior, and landscape), and smart home integrations. The role involves troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting electrical audits, resolving deficiencies, and completing repairs and replacements for devices such as receptacles, detectors, and fixtures. The electrician will read and interpret drawings and specifications, ensure work complies with ESA and local codes, and maintain a strong focus on safety and quality. Collaboration with clients and team members to plan projects, provide recommendations, and deliver professional service is an essential part of this role.
Qualifications
- Valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician certification in Ontario, with up-to-date ESA and electrical code knowledge.
- Experience in residential and commercial wiring, service upgrades, panel changes, sub-panel installations, and backup generator connections.
- Skills in installing and servicing interior, exterior, and landscape lighting, including LED retrofits, high bay fixtures, and lighting controls.
- Ability to install and integrate smart home and security systems (e.g., cameras, sensors, automation platforms) and EV charging equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting circuits, receptacles, lighting, breakers, and performing electrical audits and thermal scanning where required.
- Strong focus on safety practices, use of appropriate tools and PPE, and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings, follow specifications, manage time effectively, and document work accurately.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with a professional approach to interacting with clients and team members.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Whitchurch-Stouffville and surrounding areas.
